30 GIRLS retrospective 2010-2014 by Shiro169
Deviantart turns 14 today, so I've decided to share my journey with deviantart from back in 2010. I joined deviantart back in 2010 to serve as an online portfolio to showcase my progress from when I've started using a graphic tablet until the future. With the resources available, I've learned a lot, I've seen awesome people.

Lady Kimono 01 by Shiro169

Week 01 of using the graphic tablet. Of course I can point out a gillion flaws with this painting which at that time I've considered a complete piece of work.

Daily Sketch 68.1: Side Girl Robot Being by Shiro169

Week 182 of using the Graphic Tablet. Of course theres a lot of on and off in between the works, I think I've slowly become better. Again all of this is possible through DeviantArt.

Of course, there is a lot more to learn and to express myself through deviantart. I guess DeviantArt has become much more of a diary

Recently I've watched this video on youtube regarding improving the quality of profile pages on deviantart and it mentions the use of journals as a key determinant that influences profile views / visits / social relations. So my question to all of you, considering you read this is how integral your journal is to you and how it affects your profiles views, watches, friends and so on?

Please elaborate if possible on how your journal affects your presence here in deviantart. Sincerely appreciate it. The video I mentioned is this one:

Some really good points in the panel in my opinion. So leave a comment and check out the video. Cheers

A picture a day

1 min read
I'm currently trying to become more active on DA again after a long hiatus which is why I'm planning to submit a picture a day in DA.

The idea behind this is that by submitting deviations daily I can be more consistent and be slightly more disciplined. Aside from that would be to see the progress that I make on a more daily basis. I'm not forcing myself in any way and I'm quite enjoying it. Am making sure that the quality is at my standard.

In addition, taking pictures of mainly the same thing makes me a bit more conscious on how I present it so that it does not repeat too often, and I guess would force me to think out of the box a bit for different views.

What do you guys think of this approach? Any of you guys doing the same? Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

As the title suggests, I've been thinking for a while now of what to draw

it would be very helpful If I got some suggestions on what to draw, shall I continue fan-art? or original? realism? anime-ish? conceptual?

If you think I should concentrate on a particular type of drawing, pls tell me what and why. This is so that I can improve more in that type of drawing

Or do you have any other artists that you think might have similar-ish style as I do?

Any kind of feedback will be very much appreciated.
